The Hager Red is a blend of Zweigelt, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir. The harmonious interplay of these red varieties, the special care of the vineyard and by proper monitoring of the wine in the cellar, these high-quality cuvée originated. Specifically, the Pinot Noir requires highest quality materials (barren, flinshaltige gneiss residual soils with a southerly slope orientation). After careful selection by hand and natural fermentation of Hager red for 18 months was allowed to mature in small oak barrels used and was then filled into the bottle. It is a dense, fruity red wine with soft tannins and a long finish. It goes well with game dishes, cheese and also solo a treat.
